A letter from Marc Boon
August 2006

Dear Friends,

Well it’s been awhile since we had anything major to say…other than the 20th anniversary tour we are taking the rest of the year. It kicked off with an intimate little affair at the Mackinaw Valley Vineyard…nearly 700 of our favorite folks came out to join in the fun. We recorded most the night and hope to do some more of that the rest of the year. JT came back to jam with us and my good buddy Pindez even got us a nice 20th anniversary cake. (See photos) We also had a great time at this year’s Sweet Corn Sweet Blues Festival. We hadn’t played a real straight ahead blues show in a while and it was lots of fun.

Just a few reminders that we have a 20th anniversary t-shirt that you can get at any show and, while they last, we are giving away a free copy of “Kicked Back” along with it. This deal will be available online through the end of the year however the cost at the gigs is $15.00. On line the cost is $20.00 plus S&H. Please order any XXL or XL sizes as we are out of stock at this time.

We are doing a few very cool gigs this fall, one of which is the “Susan G. Komen” dance at the Double Tree Hotel in Bloomington. The night is Friday, Oct. 27 and we’d love for you to come out in support of this tremendous cause. We don’t play very many events like this and we are so very proud to be associated with this life saving organization. You can get more information at the web site http://www.komenmcleanco.org/.

We’re planning to take over the Lafayette Club or some such venue for a late fall/early winter time gig, too so watch the website for that info. If you haven’t signed the guest book then we don’t have your email address. We’d love to keep you up to date on what’s going on with HP so get that contact info to us.

Also, we were one of if not the first band to play on the stage of the new Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA) on the 27th of August. Many of the trades who helped renovate the building came out for a peek and we had the chance to entertain them a bit as they strolled through or hung out in the beautifully restored auditorium. Kids it is sweet! I can’t wait to get back there to see a show and hope to be able to have a night there ourselves.

We have a few more things coming up…always check the scroll on our home page. Jen and I have had our house under construction all summer and are just now starting to get things back to whatever normal is.

That’s it for now…don’t be a stranger!

Marc and the boys
